Funding Trustee for Home-Start

Description of the role:

Person with experience of accessing funding for charities. Home- Start Mid & West Suffolk is a charity, established in 1983, working in our local community supporting young families in their own home or in our family pre-school groups.
We have recently opened a charity shop in Eye and due to its popularity are looking forward to opening another shop in Stowmarket.
We are looking for someone to join our friendly team of trustees with a particular interest in finding further funding to enable us to continue to develop our successful work.

What skills are needed?

Being part of a team.
Management skills.
Financial knowledge and budgeting.
Experience of accessing funding and grants for charities through a variety of sources.
Good communication skills verbal and written.
Experience of Strategic and financial planning.
Awareness of confidentiality, equality and diversity.
Awareness of Charity Commission requirements and good governance procedures.

Experience being part of running a growing charity.
An understanding and appreciation of children’s and families changing needs.
Be part of a team of trustees, staff and volunteers.
