Befriender - Newmarket and surrounding villages

Share
Description of the role:

Could you be a Befriender and make a real difference to an older person's life and perhaps your own, too?
To visit an older person who suffers with loneliness to give them companionship and support, known to improve health and well-being, and can be beneficial to both parties. We ask for a minimum of one hour a week to visit, at whatever time suits you both, to have a cuppa and a chat.
This can make a huge impact to somebody's life, giving them something to look forward to and making them feel part of the community.
The COVID-19 pandemic has proven even moreso, how easy it is to feel isolated and alone at times - we all need friendship and kindness.
