Aldeburgh Cinema Trust has a contract with Suffolk Coastal District Council to provide a Visitor Information Service located at the Cinema. It is now looking to recruit additional volunteers to join our enthusiastic and committed team who provide a welcoming and informative service to all visitors.
Volunteers will provide a friendly and warm welcome to visitors, and provide information primarily via literature, a public computer terminal and personal knowledge.
The Visitor Information Service is open all-year, including bank holidays and weekends.
A keen interest in Aldeburgh and surrounding areas, together with a willingness to develop tourism knowledge of the region.
Excellent communication skills and a pleasant customer-focused manner.
The ability to maintain good working relationships with other volunteers and work collaboratively.
An interest in the Arts (film, theatre, opera, ballet etc) is helpful.
A development of local knowledge and contacts.
The opportunity to meet interesting people.
Enhancement of existing skills and knowledge.
Some Cinema benefits are offered including free tickets and discounts.
ACT exists to promote knowledge, understanding and appreciation in film and related arts by providing and managing a cinema for the benefit of those living in and visiting Aldeburgh and the surrounding area. The core programme shows the best of current world cinema. In addition the Trust organises an annual documentary festival, ADF, a weekend-long showcase of high quality documentaries supported by panel discussions and master-classes.
