Day Centre (kitchen) volunteer

Description of the role:

Centre is now closed for the duration of the coronavirus emergency. When we re-open the volunteer duties will be to serve teas/coffees etc. and biscuits and pre-wrapped snacks (no food preparation) from our kitchen in Broadway House - Senior Citizens Centre
Open Mon - Fri. 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday mornings 9.30 am to 12.30 lunchtime.
Volunteers do either a morning (10 am to 1 pm) or an afternoon (1 pm to 4 pm). Working in team of two.
Some volunteers come every week, some every other week, some monthly and some are "reserve" in case someone cannot do their usual turn.

What skills are needed?

Pleasant friendly manner towards visitors, cleanliness and organised, trustworthy (volunteers are unsupervised) reliable
Ability to make a good cup of tea / coffee / hot chocolate etc.
Ability to use Lincat hot water boiler and fully automatic dishwasher (training will be provided)
Ability to calculate simple charges from menu, take money and give change where necessary.

As above if not already competent.
