Community Action Suffolk are looking to recruit a Young Shadow Trustee to join their board in January, through the Suffolk Young Trustee Programme in a non-voting role.
Diversity of trustee boards is something we want to address and this programme provides a unique opportunity for young people to contribute to our charity; a pathway to become future charity leaders.
For one year, a 18-25 year old will attend trustee board and committee meetings. To help oversee the running of our charity and ensure important decisions involve a youth perspective.
The volunteer role will develop your leadership skills, business and finance experience and offer an opportunity to learn about the role of a trustee with training and mentoring support. The volunteering time isn't as much as you might think: Around 4 hours once a month.
We benefit too, with a younger perspective, skills and outlook joining our board and committee discussions, to ensure Community Action Suffolk continues to make a difference in the community and across the voluntary sector and actively listens.
Community Action Suffolk supports organisations in Suffolk’s Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, to enable them to operate more effectively.
