Good Communication, ability to work with and develop children 10 - 14 years old. Have patience, Willing to learn new skills. Flexibility, some weekends.
If not from a scouting background, camping activities, hiking, map reading, knots and lashings, administration, programme planning, first aid plus lots of other skills.

The Scout Association has in place a programme of modules to take, to qualify as a leader.
The Scout Association operates a full training programme and there are a certain amount of courses to attend, culminating in being awarded the Wood Badge.
The Scout Association is a world wide organisation. At Mendlesham Scout Group, we provide scouting for the ages of 6-18 over 4 sections. We are a voluntary group. The programmes that we provide across the 4 sections are aimed to develop the skills of the youngsters that can be used in adult life.
