Assessors: These help our clients get the right help quickly by assessing people’s needs, either face-to-face or over the phone, and identifying the most appropriate course of action – whether self-help information, referral to a specialist organisation or an appointment with a CAB adviser. Specific qualifications and experience are not required to take on the role but you will need to:
Be good at listening
Have a good manner when talking to people
Have basic computing skills
Be open minded and non-judgmental
Have an understanding of, and commitment to, confidentiality
Enjoy helping people
How to build rapport, prioritise issues, update computer skills.
All members of the team receive compulsory induction training including GDPR, and how to use our client database. Qualified Assessors have a learning route way to follow.
