We have three retail sites.
Our main hub is on Dales Road Ipswich, this is where we receive and sort our donations and have our community garden. We have a smaller shop in Sailmakers in Ipswich, this is more customer facing with limited behind the scenes roles, great if you want to improve your customer service, learn the till and take part in visual merchandising. We also have a site in Felixstowe, based at Great Eastern Square. At this site there are opportunities to help serve customers, rotate stock, help with visual merchandising.
We also have an upcycling workshop based in Ipswich at Sailmakers. Opportunities at the workshop are learning how to give a new leash of life to small items of furniture by way of painting, decoupage and re upholstering. Due to the popularity and the recent pandemic we do have limited spaces and at present we are offering a waiting list.
We also offer van mate opportunities, this is assisting the van driver with moving stock, delivering and collecting furniture if required, full PPE provided for all tasks.
Emmaus Suffolk provides work opportunities and experience to those who have been unemployed for a long time, those that are homeless or at risk of being so, people that want to gain work based experience or want to help in their community. By offering volunteering roles for everyone within our (not for profit) businesses we want to give people the chance to make a difference for themselves and others, in a supportive environment through work related experience and training. Emmaus Suffolk is an Independent charity, holding membership of the Federation of Emmaus Communities in the UK.
