14th Bury St Edmunds Guide group is part of Girlguiding, the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We are a dynamic group looking for volunteers to help us provide amazing opportunities for girls aged 10 - 14 in the Bury St Edmunds area.
Our volunteering opportunities are very flexible. From helping at weekly meetings, to fundraising, or providing admin support, any time you can give will make a difference in giving girls the chance to discover their potential and learn new skills that set them up for life.
No previous experience is necessary. You just need to be:
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Have an open and approachable manner
• Be creative and enthusiastic
• Have a sense of humour!
• Above all, enjoy working with young people
In addition to all the fun and new friendships, you’ll develop transferable skills such as team-working, communication, and leadership. Most importantly you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something amazing – giving girls in your community more opportunities for adventure!
We accept Duke of Edinburgh volunteers aged 16 and over. If you are over 18 you will be required to undergo a DBS check.
As well as adult volunteers, we are very happy to welcome young people (16+) undertaking the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
We look forward to hearing from you!
