Adult & Young Adult Helpers with 14th Bury St Edmunds Girl Guides

Description of the role:

14th Bury St Edmunds Guide group is part of Girlguiding, the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. We are a dynamic group looking for volunteers to help us provide amazing opportunities for girls aged 10 - 14 in the Bury St Edmunds area.

Our volunteering opportunities are very flexible. From helping at weekly meetings, to fundraising, or providing admin support, any time you can give will make a difference in giving girls the chance to discover their potential and learn new skills that set them up for life.

What skills are needed?

No previous experience is necessary. You just need to be:

• Reliable and trustworthy
• Have an open and approachable manner
• Be creative and enthusiastic
• Have a sense of humour!
• Above all, enjoy working with young people

What skills will be learned / gained?

In addition to all the fun and new friendships, you’ll develop transferable skills such as team-working, communication, and leadership. Most importantly you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something amazing – giving girls in your community more opportunities for adventure!

Details of restriction:

We accept Duke of Edinburgh volunteers aged 16 and over. If you are over 18 you will be required to undergo a DBS check.

Mandatory training required for role: No
Extra information:

As well as adult volunteers, we are very happy to welcome young people (16+) undertaking the volunteering section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
