African Adventure is currently a KS2 residential which runs between April-October excluding school holidays, where groups of anywhere between 20 and 50+ stay with us for three, four or five days. African Adventure is a unique outdoor experience as we base all of our activities around our African styled village set in the grounds of Sizewell Hall. Each group takes on the task of being an Emergency Relief Team as the village has been abandoned after being attacked. Each group has to complete tasks to enable the villagers to safely return to their homes.
Our main focus is to use this as a basis to demonstrate God’s love to those that may not have experienced this, develop quality relationships with children and school staff and to point people to Jesus.
We also look at teamwork and bring out different attributes every child has that comes to African Adventure. We do our best to look after and spoil the school staff that come by blessing in different ways over the schools stay too.
We would like you to support our programme with activities and meals. If you have personal stories to share from an experience in Africa that would be amazing as well.
A typical day starts at 07:00 with a team breakfast and a bible thought. We always meet in the evening for a team meeting and bedtime is usually around 22:30. Every team member is given a break of 1½ hours every day.
We very much see you as part of our team. We host a training days which are taking place on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th March at Sizewell Hall and we end our season with a party with all the team.
