Scout District Appointments Panel Member

Description of the role:

Come along and be part of the team interviewing adults joining Scouting or progressing to new roles. You will be part of the panel that recommends appointments to the Wolsey District Commissioner. Knowledge of Scouting is not essential. You will be helping Scouting run effectively and enabling young people to achieve 'Skills for Life' through the passionate volunteer leaders you've selected. It's an opportunity for you to meet some really great people too!

What skills are needed?

You should be able to assess people and situations objectively, be friendly and approachable, be able to provide reasoned advice and be willing to understand the values of Scouting.

What skills will be learned / gained?

There are mandatory training modules in: Essential Information about Scouting, GDPR, Safety, Safeguarding and Advising on Adult Appointments. These must be completed within 5 months of appointment.
