2 Unit Leaders at Flatford Rangers

Description of the role:

Exciting opportunity to set up a new leadership team for this Ranger group (for young women aged 14-18 years), to run regular meetings during term time, weekly, fortnightly or monthly & choose the meeting night. To offer a safe & social environment, regular Ranger-led programme activities & more challenging outdoor pursuits & games.

Opportunity Activities: Community Work, Virtual Volunteering, Youth Work

What skills are needed?

No previous experience of Girlguiding is required, but a knowledge of, or enthusiasm for working with older young women, would be an advantage Team building & working, good communication & planning skills. Ability to empathise, support & enthuse young people.

What skills will be learned / gained?

First Aid & Safeguarding skills pertinent to Girlguiding. Planning, Record keeping, Supervising young people. Opportunities to gain advanced outdoor activity instructor qualifications within Guiding, if desired, e.g. archery. Volunteering with Guiding can count as part of the service element of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme & will enhance your CV.

Details of mandatory training:

First Aid, Safeguarding all can now be done online. Introduction to Guiding & how we work, various online e-learnings to help varying from 10 - 30 mins in length. Help & support will also be given from other local leaders in your area.

Extra information:

DBS check & 2 referees required for all adults on application.
