Unit Helper at 2nd Cavendish Rainbows (Ipswich East)

Description of the role:

Helping existing leadership team to run weekly meetings for Rainbows (aged 5-7 years) during term time, supervising & assisting them in a safe, fun & friendly environment to complete programme activities, including simple crafts, cooking, games & outdoor challenges.

What skills are needed?

No previous experience of Girlguiding is required, but an enthusiasm for working with & preparing activities for young people (aged between 5-7 years) an advantage. Willingness to be adaptable, share skills & work as part of a team.

What skills will be learned / gained?

Basic First Aid & Safeguarding. Team work & ability to supervise & plan fun learning experiences for young women. Specialised Guiding Instructor Activity qualifications/training available if desired. Being a volunteer can count as the service element of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, & can enhance your CV.
