Volunteers for our Martlesham retail centre, IP5 3RD

Description of the role:

Each year our Hospice provides specialist care to those living with a progressive or terminal illness. To do this we rely on the support of local people donating their goods and time.

Our hugely successful retail centre in Martlesham Heath is recruiting volunteers to help sort and sell these donations, and this may help you back to work or to enhance your CV. We welcome students aged from 14 who have some spare time at weekends.

The centre is open six days per week.

You will be made very welcome in this busy team and full training will be given but any experience greatly appreciated.

The work can be quite demanding, but enjoyable, especially seeing all the amazing items the public generously donate for us to sell.

Details of shifts can be discussed on interview, but we prefer a minimum of three hours.

Please pop into the retail centre and have a chat with the manager, Agi, call Debbie Chapman on 01473 707939, or you can view the Hospice website

About the Opportunity Host Organisation

Host Organisation: St Elizabeth Hospice
Organisation Profile:

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive illness. Our work is centred around an individual's needs, which means specialist support, wherever it is required. We care for people at home, in the community or at the Hospice. We help people deal with problems such as pain, anxiety and fatigue, as well as offering practical advice and family support.

St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent charity which provides services free of charge. Our services cost £9.1 million a year to run, with almost three quarters of that figure coming from the local community. We rely on fundraising, donations and volunteers. We are grateful for any support given to help us grow local Hospice care for local people.
